Sooyeon Lee Johnston joined Arizona Public Media in 1996 as a member of the station’s student crew. She was a videographer, director and editor and eventually worked her way up to producer in 2000. Lee is now Arizona’s only full-time broadcast arts reporter.

Lee covers the rich and varied arts scenes in Tucson. She takes viewers behind the scene in artists’ studios, theatre company rehearsals, symphony concerts and more. Lee has won 5 Emmy Awards since 2001 for the Arts & Entertainment stories and various documentaries.

Lee also produces ARTe, Emmy Award winning quarterly art magazine.
