Peter Michaels

Peter Michaels is a radio producer for AZPM. His career spans over 40 years covering major news events from Watergate, to the Iranian Hostage Crisis to the 9/11 Attacks. Starting in 1972, Michaels worked for The Mutual Radio Network and then NBC Network News in New York and Washington, D.C. In 1987, he joined NPR where he developed the network's 24-hour newscast service and was Executive Producer for "Talk of The Nation."

Michaels moved to Tucson in 2003 and became AZPM's News Director in 2004 and left to become Communications Director at the National Institute for Civil Discourse in 2012. Now back at AZPM, Michaels has stepped into the role of Interim News Director.
