Steve Riggs joined Arizona Public Media as a senior videographer/editor with 11 years of visual storytelling experience. A native of Phoenix, Steve has traveled to 12 countries and 47 out of the lower 48 states. Steve is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, where he studied broadcast journalism and Spanish. He comes from a background in news, but has rounded out his technique with six years in freelance videography.
Steve is no stranger to public television, having worked on the national PBS agriculture show America's Heartland for five years. When he wasn't hanging onto the side of a combine or letting a Holstein lick his camera lens, Steve would also work on segments for the History Channel, Military Channel, Discovery Channel, Oprah, Dr. Phil, CNN, Fox and many other national news outlets and corporate video.
Most of all, Steve enjoys being a husband and father. He and his family previously lived in Utah. He now looks forward to introducing the desert Southwest to his family as they explore Tucson together.
