Arizona Public Media has launched an official Cochise County news bureau headquartered at the University of Arizona College of Applied Science & Technology on the University's Sierra Vista campus.
The AZPM Cochise County News Bureau broadcast booth. AZPM's Cochise County News Bureau will provide focused reporting on regional issues. Cochise County Reporter Summer Hom will report exclusively from the new bureau. Hom, a current University of Arizona student majoring in Government and Public Service, was most recently a reporter with the Sierra Vista Herald/Review where she covered education, arts, politics, courts, and other general assignments. In addition to focused regional stories, listeners in southeastern Arizona will continue to receive trusted local and national NPR programming from the AZPM studios in Tucson on KUAS 88.9 FM.

In 2018, in partnership with Cochise County, AZPM erected a radio transmission tower capable of supporting a full-power FM antenna that strengthened NPR radio service to audiences in Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Benson, Huachuca City, and Douglas.
