The Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced yesterday that Arizona Public Media received 26 individual Emmy nominations for 14 projects across 11 categories, the most of any public media broadcaster in the region and more than all public media broadcasters combined.
Notable this year is the double nomination for Water Harvester: Invitation to Abundance in the categories of Environment/Science Long Form and Long Form Editing. Produced by AZPM's David Fenster, Water Harvester: Invitation to Abundance explores how Tucson resident Brad Lancaster transformed his neighborhood by experimenting with water harvesting. The documentary also won a National Edward R. Murrow award earlier this year.
“To receive continued recognition from our peers in the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is a great honor,” said Jack Gibson, AZPM Chief Executive Officer. “I am extremely proud of our talented team and their commitment to telling the unique stories of our region.”
