Included in the lineup is Morton Gould’s magnificent American Salute, a patriotic fantasia on the Civil War folk melody “When Johnny Comes Marching Home.” Later in the month, Classical 90.5 celebrates the 125th anniversary of the birth of Eugene Ormandy, who was the music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra for 44 years. Are you hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year? Never fear – NPR 89.1 has your back! Join us at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27 for Milk Street Radio’s Thanksgiving special, dedicated to solving the toughest Thanksgiving problems – like what to do when your apple pie leaks and how to cook your turkey in only two hours. On Thanksgiving Day, don’t miss TURKEY CONFIDENTIAL, The Splendid Table's annual Thanksgiving special at 10 a.m. Host Francis Lam takes calls and comes to the rescue of Thanksgiving cooks, kitchen helpers, and dinner guests during the biggest cooking day of the year. And if you’ve never had the guts to try Susan Stamberg’s mother-in-law’s controversial cranberry relish, I highly recommend it. You can find the recipe (and have lots of fun reading about Susan’s annual NPR tradition and cranberries in general) here.

Finally, during this season of giving thanks, I am especially thankful for all that we have accomplished together at AZPM for you and our entire community. AZPM is here to serve you and thrives because of you. Your monthly or annual contributions help AZPM provide Southern Arizona with the very best in-depth news and information, educational programs, quality entertainment, and community events, none of which we could do without your support. My sincere thanks and very best wishes to you and yours this Thanksgiving season.
