AZPM News Original "Divided By Law" Wins National Edward R. Murrow Award

Special report wins the 2016 award for best small market radio news documentary

June 21, 2016 - TUCSON, AZ - The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced today that Divided By Law, an Arizona Public Media news original 30-minute special report produced in partnership with the Arizona Daily Star, has won the 2016 Edward R. Murrow Award for best for small market radio news documentary.

In 2015, journalists Fernanda Echavarri of AZPM and Perla Trevizo of The Daily Star collaborated on the story as part of a fellowship with the Institute for Justice and Journalism.

The awards recognize the best electronic journalism produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world. A complete list of the 2016 Edward R. Murrow Awards winners can be found at rtdna.org.
