Saddlebrooke residents were treated to a preview screening of The Great American Read, an eight-part television and online series designed to spark a national conversation about reading and the books that have inspired, moved, and shaped us. The series will engage audiences with a list of 100 diverse books.
A panel discussion, moderated by Mark McLemore, host of Arizona Spotlight on NPR 89.1, followed the presentation. Mark was joined by Sharon Scanlan, Manager of Saddlebrooke's Desert View Library and Lisa Schnebly Heidinger, author whose titles include The Journal of Sedona Schnebly and Arizona: 100 Years Grand among others.
Viewers are encouraged to read the books, vote from the list of 100, and share their personal connections to the titles. Discover the complete list of 100 novels and vote for your favorite at azpm.org/greatread.
Upcoming episodes will air on PBS 6 and PBS 6 PLUS and can be streamed online. For a complete schedule, visit the episode page on tv.azpm.org
