Volunteering at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona

A group of 13 volunteers from Arizona Public Media spent time volunteering at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on August 24. The AZPM crew joined 100 other volunteers at the food bank that day. All together they loaded 41 pallets of boxed food and 2,500 paper bags filled with non-perishables to be disseminated to needy seniors in the community. In partnership with over 300 local agencies, the Community Food Bank distributes 65,000 meals daily and serves approximately 190,000 people every year.
