Celebrating Asian American Music, Culture, and Dance

Global Arts Showcase, a collaboration between Arizona Public Media and the Pima County Public Library, brings people together in celebration of the diverse communities, cultures, and people that make Southern Arizona special.

At this family-friendly virtual event on June 2, 2021, over 400 audience members gathered to celebrate Southern Arizona’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community with an evening of Chinese music, culture, and dance. We enjoyed performances and interviews with Tucson’s own Purple Bamboo Ensemble and Duo Chinoiserie, along with local folk dance group, Tucson Sino Dance. At the end of the program, audience members had the opportunity to interact with the performers during a live Q&A segment.
