AZPM staff spent the morning of July 15 volunteering at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. AZPM joined other volunteers from various local organizations. In one shift they packed 2,520 bags for The Emergency Food Assistance Program and 1,091 boxes for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program.
The CSFP works to improve the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods, while TEFAP is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of people with low income by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost.
