Carl Olson became fascinated by insects when he was a young boy and that led to a passion that he continues to enjoy in retirement. Olson is an associate curator emeritus at the Entomology Department at the University of Arizona, and he also shares his knowledge and love of the much-aligned members of the natural world with captive audiences. One of the things he despises and never uses? Bug spray. He recommends other critters that eat bugs, like the Praying Mantis as well as insect repelling plants.
