  • Working in Arizona as a lawyer, judge, senator, governor, and state supreme court justice, Ernest W. McFarland left behind an important legal and legislative legacy. Author Gary L. Stuart explores this history in his new book, Call Him Mac: Ernest W. McFarland, the Arizona Years, and he talks to Mark about understanding the accomplishments of a man regarded by many as a giant of 20th century politics. Stuart will speak at An Evening Celebrating Ernest "Mac" McFarland Tuesday, January 29th, from 6 - 8 pm at the UA Libraries Special Collections. Seating is limited, RSVP recommended.

  • Tony Paniagua tells the story of Merry and Lou Lewis, a couple who moved to the Tucson foothills in 1997. They were amazed to discover that wild bobcats were raising kittens in their new backyard, and observing and writing about these new desert neighbors became a life-changing experience.

  • Learn how Tucson resident Harvey Wolfe, a retired cellist with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra, is helping to conduct a unique fundraising event for Literacy Connects that depends on the musical literacy of a group of volunteer Arizona musicians. The public is invited to listen and support the mission of Literacy Connects on Saturday, January 26th, 5-8 pm at the non-profit's headquarters, located at 200 East Yavapai Road.
