- Stand-up comedian Fortune Feimster shares her outlook on life, and tells about being cast (against type) as a C.I.A. sharpshooter in a new Netflix series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Feimster will be at the Fox Theatre on Sunday, September 11th as a part of her stand-up comedy tour, "Hey Y'all."
- Meet Tucsonan Lisa Gerin , a former teacher and librarian who is now writing books for children. Gerin’s first is called Rosalind Looked Closer: An Unsung Hero of Molecular Science, a biography of Rosalind Franklin, whose amazing discoveries changed the way we understand viruses and DNA.
Lisa Gerin has two upcoming public appearances. On Saturday, September 17th, there will be a book launch event for Rosalind Looked Closer at Littlest Bookshop located at 5011 East 5th Street in Tucson. On Sunday, September 25th, her appearance will be at Barnes and Noble Eastside at 5130 East Broadway Boulevard. Both will include story time and crafts.
The author of "Rosalind Looked Closer" Lisa Gerin. The new picture book explores the story behind Rosalind Franklin, an often overlooked pioneer in molecular science.

It contains works from the Sonoran Plein Air Painters, a group of local artists who enjoy visiting the outdoors and painting what they find in real-time. The public is invited to join the group for a reception at the Stevens Gallery on October 1st, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Works from the Sonoran Plein Air Painters are also on display at the Amerind Museum in an exhibit titled "The PLEIN Truth", that is showing through October 31st, 2022. The "Barrio Corazon" exhibit featuring works by the Tucson Barrio Painters is on display at the Upper Link Gallery inside the Tucson International Airport.
