The court’s decision comes after officials uncovered a database error that for two decades mistakenly designated the voters as having access to the full ballot.
The announcement Tuesday of an error in state-run databases that reclassified voters comes days before county election officials are required to mail ballots to uniformed and overseas voters.
The laws in question would require proof of citizenship for state voter registrants and restrict Arizona voters who registered with a federal-only election form from voting for president.
