James Reel

AZPM's classical music director and weekday morning announcer, James Reel, is also the executive director of the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra, president of the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music, and serves on the board of the Tucson Desert Song Festival.

Reel has a long history in the arts, having been a theater critic, arts editor, and general editor for The Tucson Weekly, and arts and entertainment editor and classical music critic at the Arizona Daily Star. He was formerly music editor of Fanfare magazine and contributing editor to Strings magazine.

Reel is the author of The Timid Soul's Guide to Classical Music and the guidebook CitySmart: Tucson.
